Our hosting is a little different than most - in that we custom build a server feature set that complements your web design needs. You then know that your server and website work in tandem and you are not over-spending for features that are not needed. As your website and web needs grow, we can always add server controls that allow you to achieve new objectives.

| Server Side Includes (SSI)
|
Server side includes are unique to Apache server software. Our servers are based on Apache builds. With simple coding techniques you can utilize includes to dynamically build pages for internet or intranet deployment. It should be noted that includes do not require scripts to work. They also provide that the page is completely built before it is displayed - an important consideration for search engine robots.

| File Transfer Protocol (FTP)
|
FTP is the method of choice for uploading and downloading files to a server. There are other methods, but they cannot really be compared to the speed and user friendly interface of FTP programs.

| CGI
|
CGI (Common Gateway Interface) is a place on your server to locate and execute scripts that allow your website to communicate with a visitor. Generally, the cgi defined area limits access to authorized users only. This will deter hackers or prying eyes from seeing mission critical information. CGI makes it relatively easy to setup custom web features such as forms that email, custom programs that complement your website, communicate with databases, run shopping environments, etc. All of this can be done outside of your 'public', viewable web pages. CGI scripts can be used in a variety of common programming languages, like Perl, C or C++, Applescript, Visual Basic, Python and some Unix Shells.

| PHP
|
PHP is a relatively new, yet very powerful, programming language that is deployed as part of our server software package. PHP can be used right along with the html pages of your website, making them very smart and efficient. The PHP language is used for many internet applications, 'smart' web forms, and database control layers. Because of its versatility and relative ease of use, we highly recommend it for advanced internet programming.
